I got lots done yesterday! The regency bonnet is now finished. I made the reticule for my regency things, which ended up being brown velvet and sort of a glorified drawstring pouch. I attached the ballgown bodice to the skirt and put a bow on it, put a new waistband on the victorian petticoat (it actually fits now), made a quick neckerchief, and ( Read more... )

right, no gold trim it is then :)

So, I finished the bertha collar (haven't attached it yet) for the ball bodice. Now I just need trim advice. I trimmed the bottom edge with the velvet ribbon I have on the skirt, but I found a gold trim with the same color down the center which i think I like over top of the velvet..

So, gold trim or no gold trim?

And we have an 1860's ballgown bodice. I went a little compulsive and even piped the seams and the edges. And discovered something in the process: hemp cord is the best piping material ever. Its smallish, but its stiff, so its almost as if I have boning in those seams already ( Read more... )
